Missional Preaching in Context
This volume explores how missional preaching becomes liberative in life-threatening environments. It offers an alternative reconstruction of those realities within the local context and empowers the community of faith to move away from its comfort zone with the prescribed nonlife-giving status quo, into a state of restlessness with those realities that are void of justice, equity and fullness of life for all. The book also offers an alternative model of gospel proclamation that is embedded in the mission of the triune God.
It presents a hermeneutical lens of interrogating the biblical text that involves using all of the creative resources that are available to the worshipping community. They include drama, music and dance as indispensable cultural resources that must be appropriated to understand how God in Christ is speaking to the faith community.
